Little Red Hot Mama

I dreamed of this photo session~ When an old friend called to tell me her Son and his wife were expecting I was thrilled to offer them a session. I wanted to do a snow theme since we had just got about 2 feet of snow. January came and with it a January thaw. Hours before our session it was only rainy and drab. Just as I was leaving giant snowflakes fell and our session was born. I grabbed my Red Riding Hood Coat and cloaked our little Mama in it. When I looked at our images I noticed several with heart shaped snowflakes. See if you can...

Boston Strong

This photo session with a fireman and his son happened just days after the awful Marathon bombings. We had pre planned using the fireman hat with Dad holding, and during the session I kept thinking how amazing fireman and policeman are.  On the way home, the phrase Boston Strong kept playing in my head. As I drove past a nursery school, I noticed a banner made with little painted handprints and the phrase Boston Strong. I took that as a sign. So I dedicate this image to everyone affected by that terrible day, and all the brave men and women...

The Secret Language of Twins

The Secret Language of Twins

I love twins ! As a neonatal nurse and newborn photographer, I have the unique opportunity to watch newborn behavior, and I must say twins have a secret language and a very special bond. When photographing twins, I watch their subtle signs and pose them comfortably, gently. It’s a special experience for me, a privilege. It is such a joy to watch the session unfold and the magic...

Blue Hour

Blue Hour is that magical time of day just before sunrise, and just after sunset. The sky is sapphire blue. The exposure are very long, and the camera needs to buffer the file, I wait, like a little kid to see that stunning blue color. Blue Hour is my favorite time to photograph....

Kitten

Meet Kitten. Not the most original name, but I have a unique accent on the way I say it. I pronounce it “Kit Ten” and she seems happy with it. Kitten loves to hang out in this window, my favorite window in the house. She hears the birds and does her little kitten talk back to them. This area has the most beautiful light every afternoon. With the window open I’m obsessed with the blowing of the curtains. I’ve shot this window so many times it’s a joke with my friends~ photographing the curtains again Lisa?
