ABOUT ME

At 12 years old, I  took my first portrait of my sister in window light.
At 16,  my dream was to be a photographer.

For over 30 years I've had a dual career. working in a NICU, caring for premature and sick infants, and owning a professional photography studio.   Currently my time is devoted to studying and teaching spirituality, and most every morning, sharing an image of the daily sunrise.   In 2009 my studio work became primarily newborns and fine art.  I  have had the privilege of photographing hundreds of little humans, each one a unique little soul. Witnessing these newborn babies and newly born days fills me with gratitude for life and keeps me connected to Spirit.

I'M lisa

hi there

This gratitude practice is so powerful and healing.  I have continued placing my forehead to sand at sunrise and love to see what word or name comes to me that day.

Sunrise photography has become my personal journey to creativity and sharing my spiritual connection.

One morning, I spontaneously placed my forehead to the sand and gave thanks. Later I found myself drawing a heart in the  sand and placing a word or name inside.

Capturing sunrise at the beach became a daily ritual. It restored my connection to the Earth, Spirit and my Soul.

My signature series of sunrise images were born in 2016 after a time of deep grief. It was a leap year, and a dark one for me. A friend challenged me to take one photo for each of the 366 days.

This sunrise series evolved into a daily post of images and inspirational messages on social media, as well as a self-published book Ray of Hope.

From the rising light of predawn through the glow of a radiant sun, the work of Lisa Pelonzi’s imagery is anything but ordinary.

Almost intuitively, Lisa knows when and where she needs to go and capture her images of sunrise. The camera has become “an extension of her soul” to create images that are described as magical, ethereal and at times otherworldly.
